Using problem focused coaching to overcome internal barriers

Rehabilitation after conflict
Rehabilitating people to their full potential after workplace conflict
What I do
When workplace conflict becomes abrasive, everyone needs rehabilitation to perform at their full potential again. My rehabilitative work comes in two different forms: restorative and redemptive. I restore people to giving their best again after conflict has set them back. And I redeem leaders whose abrasive management style clashes with corporate values, risking their career future.
I help abrasive leaders to understand the impact they have on others and to change the way that they lead. This redemptive work helps them to lead with empathy and get the best out of their colleagues and teams.
I help people who have been damaged by conflict to recover their strength and confidence. This restorative work returns people to giving their best at work again.

About me
My name is Stephen Tolfree. I am an experienced executive coach and have coached more than 1000 people up to C-suite level.

I chose this profession because of my passion for personal growth and transformation.

My first career was as a management consultant, helping make improvements to highly change resistant organisations around the world. I was then a senior policy adviser where I designed and led changes to global financial systems. There are similarities between coaching individuals and changing systems and organisations. Both require attention to understanding the root cause of problems, tapping into the motivations for change and then collaboratively designing solutions tightly targeted on the cause.

My work is profound yet quick. Apart from my Boss Whispering work, virtually all my clients come for just one coaching session.

Of all the different interventions that I use, helping people let go of resentments most consistently leads to transformation change.

When I discovered Boss Whispering I realised that I could prevent the problems that I was solving with my forgiveness work. I love that it brings out the best in people and I enjoy the challenge of helping people who seem highly change resistant. And the payoff from averting future suffering is huge.

My greatest pleasure in my work is seeing my clients heal and return to thriving again so they can freely and fully give their gifts to the world.
